Baker King Review

When I was seeing the ads about this Korean Series on GMA-7, I wasn't looking forward to watching it. But since we have nothing to watch during that time, we changed the channel and seen this series on its pilot episode from then on we became avid viewers of the show and waited for it every night, even if it is shown very late at night.

It is a series worth the wait, it is unlike any other series I have seen with prolonged twists and turns, it was not like the conventional series you'll see. Even my dad is hooked on the series, my father have not watched any Korean series as he hated them as he view them only sissies would watch. Funny part of it as the lines of the characters touch him as well, he cries when we cry of the episode. It was fun seeing "that" side of my dad. I learned that he may be a man but he has a good heart and that he ain't ashamed to let us see him cry over some series, I learned to appreciate my father more.

It is a beautiful series that a lot of people can appreciate, it is about finding a reason to live for, realizing your dreams and making them happen, fighting to survive, the real face of life, and life's reality.

It is definitely a must watch Korean Series.

Yoon Shi Yoon, Baker King Kim Tak Goo

Basic Information from Wikipedia:
Acting Shows: The Baker King and High Kick Through The Roo
Acting Movie: Death Bell 2
Age: 25
DOB: September 26, 1986
Real Name: Yoon Dong Goo

Yoon Shi Yoon portrayed the adult character of Kim Tak Gu from the popular series Baker King which has become the number Korean Drama series is South Korea. Despite the overwhelming success of the Korean Drama Yoon Shi Yoon stayed humble and kept his feet on the ground.

He swooned the whole Philippines with his boyish good looks and charming smile. He first appeared on the series at episode 7, after 12 years. Yoon Shi Yoon recognize that the popularity he is getting is due to his character Kim Tak Gu and not of his own.

The drama contended with KNG's (Kim Nam Gil) Bad Guy at time slot on its release. Despite the show being graced with rookie main actors and actresses it was able to find its way to the hearts of South Korea's citizen. The show is currently being aired on GMA 7's telebabad after Beauty Queen time slot with ABS-CBN's "KRISTINE" as competitor on the slot.

As Philippines got the right to Baker King the lead stars will probably visit the Country to promote the series as I think it is a standard protocol. =)

Philippines, ARE YOU READY FOR YOON SHI YOON?!

The Baker King

I watched GMA-7's pilot episode and it was really good, my mom liked it and we wait for its time slot every night. The new series' pilot episode beat "Kristine" rating in mega manila on its first day according to AGB Nielsin.

We switched to "The Baker King" and ditched "Kristine" as the cast deserves to be ditched, we used to be an avid follower of the show watching episodes on iwantv when we miss it due to gatherings we need to attend to.

Since the time Cristine Reyes showed her real color we stopped supporting "Kristine", and now we are hooked with the new Korean Series in GMA-7.

Tak Gu's character is really interesting and the story plot is definitely a must watch, he was a kid until episode 6 and by episode 7, it has been 12 years after. The young Tak Gu actor deserved the award he received as he is definitely a blossoming young actor with a good future in acting career. We watched the series in DVD, and I was won over by the adult Kim Tak Gu. He grew up to be a gangster beating up gang underlings, and grown up to be one heck of a good looking guy.

I hated the part Grandma died, I just hated Ma Jun (Matthew in GMA-7’s Baker King) as he is truly evil personified just as his parents. His family (real parents) is scary to death; they’re so evil, poor Tak Gu having nemesis like them, they made his life truly miserable.

Anyhow, the series has only 30 episodes and so it will probably be over in 3 months.
